Do you want a creative future?

Turn your creative talents into a fulfilling and exciting career. If you have a good appreciation for form and design, a strong sense of the esthetic, and can creatively communicate, then, a career in the arts, media or design is right for you.

While creativity is crucial in all design occupations, the right higher education qualification in art will help you hone your talents and turn it into a rewarding career. A good art school provides a curriculum that emphasizes design and creativity along with strong, hands-on, technical training. Typically, a 2- or 3-year professional art school awards certificates or associate degrees in design. The Bachelor of Fine Arts degree is granted at 4-year colleges and universities. The curriculum in these schools includes art and art history, principles of design, designing and sketching, and specialized studies for each of the individual design disciplines. Many of these degrees require basic coursework in business management, merchandising, marketing, and psychology. Today, many art schools offer online courses to suit your schedule and needs.

The employment prospect for art school graduates is huge. There are three dominant career tracks: Fine arts professions include painters, sculptors, and illustrators that create original artwork, using a variety of media and techniques. Multimedia artists create special effects, animation, or other visual images using film, video, computer software, or other electronic media. Lastly, designers turn abstract ideas into formal products - from apparel to industrial products and the space we live in. Professions in this track include fashion designer, graphic designer and interior designer.
