Design Degree
A general design degree will focus
on the basic principals of drawing, typography, and graphic design. It will emphasize
design and creativity, while providing strong technical training using new multimedia
technologies. Most programs will combine these studio art skills with studies in
art history and art theory to develop critical skills in visual communications design.
There are many different types of design degrees: interior design, graphic design,
visual communication, digital design, graphic arts publishing, game art & design,
and graphics and multimedia. Beyond the basic coursework, a student will typically
need to select a concentration in an area of specialty.
