Journalism
Program
Journalism programs emphasize
the studies of communications, structured writing and analysis. Students will learn
practical skills in information gathering, story construction, and editorial using
both traditional and new media. In addition, courses in culture, sociology, economics,
law, politics and history are helpful to develop critical thinking and gain a broad
understanding of current affairs. Students will develop the work ethics and good
habits which are the prerequisite of the profession. Students work in the high-pressure
deadline atmosphere of the journalism profession through their assignments in reporting,
writing and editing. Graduates find work in a wide variety of jobs, from newspapers
to radio and television, magazines, on-line publishing, public relations and communications.
